Our Mission Statement

The diploma in nursing education from the Providence School of Practical Nursing, approved by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Culture, is a key that will open many doors for you as a professional nurse. The school is seeking creative students who enjoy working with others.

Students are admitted to the studies requirements with High School Diploma, CXC or GCE ‘O’ Level at the upper division major for fall and spring trimester. For Overseas students are admitted to the studies requirements with High School Dipoma, West African School Certificate, CXC or GCE ‘O’ Level at the upper division major for fall and spring trimester. Admission to the school of nursing is highly competitive and those students with the most qualified entry requirements will be accepted.

The school of nursing is a modern facility with a lecture hall along with a functioning library, a demonstration room, and lobby area, nursing office, staff room, two bathrooms, and a nutritional area. Clinical experiences are planned in a variety of health care agencies.

Nursing is a dynamic, practical and caring profession that offers challenge, flexible working conditions and a comfortable standard of living. The training programme in practical nursing is prepared for beginning professional, practical nursing in a variety of health care setting such as hospitals, community health agencies, clinics, nursing homes, government services, private industries and over fifty (50) Commonwealth Counties work opportunities form the HEART TRUST.

In addition to the generic practical nursing diploma programme, the school of nursing offers a general home nursing programme that will give you a certification for life from the NCTVET.
